Features

What it does on Android

  • 01

    One tap, one quote

No feed, no infinite scroll, no algorithm deciding what you see next.

  • 02

    Read aloud

Any quote can be spoken with a voice already installed on your phone, at the pace you choose. Music you are playing dips while it speaks and comes straight back.

  • 03

    Hand-picked

Over fourteen hundred quotations, chosen rather than scraped. Attribution is best-effort and corrections are welcome.

  • 04

    Quote of the hour

A home-screen widget with a new quote every hour, and another whenever you tap it.

  • 05

    Copy and share

Copy puts a quote and its author on your clipboard; Share hands it to any app you choose. The app never reads your clipboard.

Worth knowing

Attribution is best-effort

Famous quotations are famously misattributed, passed between books, posters and the internet until the wrong name sticks harder than the right one. We correct errors when we learn of them and would be glad to hear about one. If a quotation matters — for a speech, an essay, a tattoo — check it against a primary source first.

The words are other people's

The quotations belong to whoever said or wrote them. The selection, arrangement and presentation are ours.
